Cerrone

Cerrone has released his brand new single ‘A Part Of You’, out now via Because Music. The accompanying video, created using AI technology, is also available now.

The song samples the vocals from ‘You & Me’, the 2013 hit by acclaimed UK duo Disclosure, which was also famously remixed by Flume. The song is a reworking of the single ‘House Of The Rising Sun’, made by Cerrone in 1977.

Of the single, Cerrone says:
“It was real pleasure reworking on ‘The House Of The Rising Sun’, a track I had co-written and co-produced with my old and faithful accomplice, DonRay back in the 70s. The brass arrangements in the original were just amazing. I played it so many times in my sets, and the audience was crazy about it. It became obvious I had to rework it, and doing so, I added a vocal part from a Disclosure’s track ‘You & Me’, and the result is just burning hot on the dancefloors!”

The official music video for ‘A Part Of Me’, available now, was created using AI technology, resulting in a stream of still images which portray the feel of the single aptly. It was made in collaboration with French design company Rart.

Of the video, Cerrone says:
“The video mixes two techniques: creating images from existing images, and creation from scratch. Firstly we would take an existing video and modify each image in the style I wanted, replace the protagonists, dress them up, make them do the action I had in mind, etc.
Then I would also generate images myself from prompts: written sentences describing a scene in great detail (characters, actions, type of light, camera angle, type of rendering, artistic style, etc.)
After a month of work and using these techniques, approximately 5000 images were created and then compiled into an immersive and artistic video that truly captures the essence of the song and the CERRONE universe. It is a technology that opens incredible doors in the creative industry, allowing for unprecedented visual explorations that would have been difficult, if not impossible, to achieve manually.”

Cerrone will perform live this Saturday 22nd April and London’s newly-reopened venue KOKO, where he will play live with his band – with support acts courtesy of Laurence Guy, Dombrance and Katie Goodman.
